Oven-Finished Rib-Eye Steak

I love steak, my body does well with meat, so for years I’ve tried to find recipes and the best way to cook it, I’ve landed on this method, oven finished steak. It’s quick and easy!

I like using rib-eye, it’s has good marbling, and it’s always tender and juicy

Make sure your kitchen is ventilated, because it will get smoky. And don’t be afraid of the high heat, it’s what gives the steak that nice crust.

Oven-Finished Steak

Serving Size:
6 min, plus marinading


  • favorite seasonings or marinade
  • rib eye steak
  • rosemary sprig


  1. Marinade steak night before, or at least for 4 hours. I’ve used a variety of things. For this one, I used a Salt Lick marinade and Bohio Adobo.
  2. Preheat oven to broil
  3. When oven is ready, preheat cast iron on high heat then add butter to cast iron.
  4. When cast iron is very hot, add steak and sear for 2 minutes on each side
  5. Top with rosemary sprig. Then finish in oven for 2 minutes
  6. Take out of oven and cast iron and tent rest for 7 minutes.
  7. NOTE: 2 min is for medium rare, for medium do 3 min for steps 4 and 5.
